the Dodgers had made it to the World Series EVERYTIME they had a ballplayer win a major award such as a CY Young or MVP award. This stat goes back to the early 60's.
Eric Gagne broke the streak this past year. What this points to in my opinion is the previous dodgers teams never had a one ballplayer making an obscene amount of money.
If anything the streak is still intact because the Dodgers had a 15 million dollar pitcher on the team and I think Shaun Greene makes 13 or 14 million.
The reality is in this day and age in baseball your top player CANNOT make more than 10 million a year (except for the yankees) without raising the salary for the rest of the team to unrealistic AND undeserved levels.
